Manaslu Cicruit

Manaslu Circuit

15 Days

CHALLENGING

At 8,163 meters Manaslu is the 8th highest mountain in the world.  The height of the Larkya Pass is around at around 5,200 meters, slightly lower than the basecamp for Mt Everest, and represents the highest part and toughest day on the trek, requiring a 14-hour walking day. This trek is far less trodden and well-known than the Everest Basecamp and Annapurna Circuit treks. You stay in tea houses every evening, normally in twin-sharing rooms.  It is a stunning trek, initially walking up the valley by the rushing Gandaki River, crossing back and forth on suspension bridges depending on the terrain. The valley tightens into a deep gorge before opening out just as Manaslu comes into view. Much of the lower part of the trek is through a mixture of coniferous and deciduous trees with glimpses of the high snow-covered peaks of Ganesh Himal (7,400m) towering above you. Another challenging trek but you can include a few acclimatisation days on the route.
