We take lunch in Cortina and then check into the hotel Columbia https://www.hcolumbia.it/. In the afternoon we will walk to to Fanes waterfall a short drive to the north of the town. We will dine at Carlo’s restaurant, Bel de Seppa, across the road from the hotel in the evening.

  • Today we take the minibus to the east of Cortina and take the 3 hour walk up to the stunning Lac de Sorapis situated with the cirque of Sorapis where we will have lunch, before walking back to the minibus, perhaps on a different route, depending upon how we are getting on. The route leads by a number of WW1 bunkers and installations which are interesteing to look at. Upon collecting the minibus we will drive up to the Auronzo Refugio, situated to the south of Tre Cime, where we stay the night.

  • Today we will walk around the iconic Tre Cime and eat our packed lunch at one of the refugios on the way. There are a number of routes we can take depending on the weather and how everyone is feeling. Upon returning to the minibus we will drive back to hotel Columbia and dine in Cortina that evening.

  • We will take the minibus up the Falzaredo pass and park up under the towers of Cinque Torri which we will then walk up to and explore the large area of WW1 fortifications and watch the climbers scaling the towers. We will take lunch at the Rifugio Scoiattoli. After lunch we will walk for about 90 minutes up to Refugio Nuvolau, situated at the top of a mountain of the same name at 2,500m. From here the views of the Dolomites are stunning and you get a really good view out to the glacier on Marmalada, the highest mountain in the Dolomites.

  • After breakfast we walk back down to the minibus on a different route arriving at around 1100 before dropping back down to hotel Colombia to pick up any suitcases and belongings we may have left there.
