Walking in the Swiss Alps

Walking in the Swiss Alps

Switzerland - 2013

The opportunity arose to guide a friend of mine to the top of a mountain he’d looked at for many years above his chalet in Villas. The Tete Rond 3070m was not a tricky mountain to climb, although the navigation was not easy, particularly as we were probably the first people to scale it that year. We stayed in the Refuge Giacomini on route and the hut warden was able to give us a good explanation as to the route. We had a couple of snow fields to cross and there was a bit of scrambling near the top. Great views of the Swiss Alps from the top on a perfect windless day.
