My second trek to the Everest Basecamp with a very cohesive group of friends, including my eldest son Rory, from Ditchling. Near perfect weather but very cold and flying to Lukla airstrip was pretty harrowing on this occasion. Everyone made it and the views from the top of Kala Patthar 5,644m were well worth the extra effort. I even got to beat Rory at chess.
