<July 23 gave us perfect weather to explore the steep hills above Menaggio, visiting a number of the mountain villages and taking in a few peaks. Bregagno 2100m provided outstanding views both up and down the lake and over to Como’s neighbour Lake Lugano. The trip included visits to a couple of villas, including Villa Balbianello, home of the French explorer Count Guido Monzino and one memorable thunderstorm.>
